Tanta

A very wide Peruvian menu, from ceviche to ají de gallina and from breakfast to dessert: handy for a table where everyone wants something different.

A menu for a table where everyone wants something different

Tanta presents itself as a chain serving Peruvian cooking, traditional and contemporary, born more than twenty years ago. What makes it useful for a traveller is the breadth of the menu: ceviches, criollo dishes (ají de gallina, tacu tacu, tallarines saltados, a “gran combinado” built around an arroz con pollo), causas, anticuchos, soups, salads, sánguches, a dessert menu and a breakfast menu. When a table brings together someone who wants raw fish, another who prefers a cooked dish and a child who wants something simple, it is a practical solution.

A few prices from the menu noted on 7 October 2026: a cebiche clásico at S/ 49, an ají de gallina or a tacu tacu norteño at S/ 39, a piqueo criollo to share at S/ 78 (tamalito verde, papa rellena, anticuchos, papa a la huancaína, fried cassava with ocopa and causa). In the morning, the menu offers a breakfast aguadito at S/ 32. The menu states that all prices include taxes and the service surcharge.

Which branch

Opening hours change from one address to another (consulted on 7 October 2026):

Branch Address Published opening hours
Miraflores Av. Vasco Núñez de Balboa 660 From 8:00 to 23:30
Larcomar Malecón de la Reserva 610, Miraflores From 9:00 to 23:00
San Isidro Pancho Fierro 115 From 8:00 to 23:30

The chain also publishes branches in San Borja (Rambla), Surco (Jockey Plaza, El Polo, Chacarilla) and San Miguel (Plaza San Miguel). The Salaverry branch is the closest to the Residencial San Felipe, in Jesús María. Give the driver the branch’s address, not just the name of the chain.

Who it is for

For a family, a group of friends or a couple who want to taste several dishes without getting lost among very specialised places. It is neither a huarique nor a chef’s restaurant: a dependable place, with long opening hours.

A typical meal, based on the menu

Four people, each to their own taste

A piqueo criollo to share as a starter, then a ceviche, an ají de gallina and a tacu tacu, and four chichas.

Prices from the published menu recorded on 7 October 2026; anything not in the calculation (unlisted drink, service, tip) comes on top, unless stated otherwise. According to the menu, the prices include taxes and the service surcharge. Divide the total by four for the cost per person.

Our suggestion

A table for a group that does not want to choose a single type of cooking: one person has a ceviche, another a criollo dish, a third a soup, and you share a piqueo as a starter.

What to ask before you go

  • The opening hours of the branch you choose: they differ from one address to another.
  • Whether the breakfast menu is served at the time of your visit.
