Our purpose
SwissLima is a free guide, made from Switzerland, devoted to travelling in Peru. It helps you choose your destinations and your itinerary, understand the country’s customs and prepare each stage: when to go, how much to budget, how to get around, where to sleep and what to eat.
“Swiss” speaks of the project’s origins and its way of working: precise, dated, straight to the point. “Lima” is its gateway, not its limit: the guide covers the coast, the Andes and the Amazon.
Our approach
- Answer first. Every page starts with the essentials, then gives the details that help you decide.
- Make choices. We prefer clear advice to an exhaustive list: which neighbourhood for a first night, which season for which region, which pace for the altitude.
- Date what changes. Prices, opening hours and access rules are tied to their source and their date, gathered at the bottom of each page.
- Say what we have done. A restaurant or venue page states whether we have been there; a recipe, whether we have cooked it. We invent no reviews, no visits and no photos.
The texts are prepared with the help of artificial intelligence tools and most of the images are illustrations: see our method and the legal notice.
Our declared links
Swiss Lima Property, the property business of the same company, supports people who are looking into buying in Lima or seeking long-term accommodation. When a page mentions it, it is a relationship of interest, flagged as such: see staying several weeks in Lima.
No restaurant, museum or transport company mentioned in the guide pays us a commission or has given us a free service, and each page says so.
Report a mistake
Has a price changed, are some opening hours no longer right, has a place closed? Tell us the place, the date and what you observed: we check at the source, then we correct it. Report a mistake.
